A very pretty lunar eclipse indeed - and perfect viewing conditions.
The full set of photos is now available for viewing here.

Students from First Year 1953-IC1955-LC1957 met at the school on a gorgeous day to celebrate 50 years
since they left school. Read about their day here or this article in the Parramatta Advertiser.
The night of Tuesday, August 28th, will provide us all with an ideal view of that very attractive
celestial conjunction, a total lunar eclipse. Not just a half-measure partial eclipse - nope - this is a
full-deal blood-red total eclipse. Find out more here.
Members and guests of the
Parramatta & District Historical Society braved the wintery conditions to undertake a tour of the school
and Heritage Room. A hot cup of tea on arrival, revived everyone's spirits.

Miss Campbell, our Heritage Officer, was invited to present a session on the establishment and maintainence
of the Parramatta High School Archives, at a workshop hosted by the School Archivists Association. It was a very interesting day at the State
Archives, The Rocks. The audience was largely from public schools.
Its been seven years since this website last featured an Iridium satellite flare, so
here's one for today.
The school has held an
ANZAC Day
Commemoration every year since 1916. Read about this year's event here.
In August 2005, NASA linked to this website to help explain how stereo imaging
works. Today (21 April 2007) they've linked to us again.
Well, I think its pretty cool...
Ex-student Bronwyn Harris (LC1969) was visiting our website and noticed a familiar face in an unidentified class photograph. It was her father, Ken Harris, a schoolboy in the late 1920s. Not only that she provided some interesting details from a letter sent by her aunt, also an ex-student. Read about it here.
The National Archives of Australia recently made available the service records of all enlisted Australians for
World War I. For the first time we are able to read on-line the details of service for our ex-staff and students in this conflict. It is a sobering exercise.
In 1932 Parramatta High School's captains were invited to the opening ceremony of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. 75 years later our 2007 school captains, Kimberley and Daniel, were invited to witness the official ceremony and enjoy the opportunity to walk across the bridge.
Students from the Leaving Certificate Year 1951 and Intermediate Certificate 1949 met for lunch to mark the anniversary of the year they all started high school - 1947. They had a nice time and you can see them here and what they looked like in high school here.
Despite all predictions to the contrary, comet McNaught is not fading down to
nothingness. If anything, he looked more impressive two days later.
...and even better two days later on the 20th.
Two years ago, Comet Machholz made an appearance in the skies over Parramatta.
Bit of a fizzer, to be honest. Comet McNaught was much more fun.
Just two years after he left Parramatta High School, Richie Benaud
debuted for the NSW Cricket team. He has recently been selected in the greatest NSW Cricket team in 150 years.
Miss Butler, his Latin teacher, whose lessons were interrupted by cricket practice didn't believe the cricket would be of
much use to Benaud. What did she know?
