Just for a change of pace, one of the cups sprouted wa-a-y down inside the Pinus Radiata stump, and has been squished somewhat
to conform with its "enclosure". Lots of pics here.

Two People & A Place is the story of a family who lived at the Sydney Observatory from 1943-1974. Ex-student and 1929 School Captain, Una Johnston, was part of that family - married to the NSW Government Astronomer, Dr Harley Wood. Una thoroughly enjoyed her time at the school in the 1920s and was a member of the school hockey team. You can see her in the team photo here. Our sincere thanks to her daughter, Ros Madden, who has donated two copies of the book to the school.
Maureen Shelly of the Daily Telegraph is quite correct when she wrote that Parramatta High School girls played a form of netball as early as the 1920s. A number of formidable teams enjoyed success over their opponents.

Amidst their preparations for the HSC, graduation and school formal, Parramatta High Year 12 students raised over $2000 for the Unicef Water for Life program. Development Officer, Fillipa Wittenberg thanked the students for their generosity and support of this valuable program.
The Vernal Equinox of 2009 brought an unprecedented dust storm, covering most of eastern NSW. Click
here for a few snaps of PHS, blanketed in red dust.
Parramatta High School hosted the 2009 Parramatta District Schools Flag Day Ceremony. Australian Defence Force personnel formed the Flag Escort Party. Read more....
Parramatta High School was one of only three schools in the Western Sydney Region to win the dual award for Numeracy and Literacy.
Principal Peter McFarland, spoke to the Parramatta Advertiser about the introduction of selective classes at Parramatta High School in 2010. Read what he said here.
It's a full moon tomorrow night... and you know what that means, don't you!
Yes! It's time for another eclipse - this time a partial lunar, penumbral only,
but worth watching nonetheless.
