Two new pages illustrate the kites used on this site for aerial photography. Have a look
at the flowform inflatable kite, or the
Delta Conyne "conventional" kite which uses dowels for spars.
The Sydney Morning Herald's Column 8
features again on our site. This time its an old school tie tie-in.
Another menu of kite aerial photographs
makes an appearance, this time with a story of sorts.
Finally, it all starts to fall into place. Not just a Kite Aerial Photograph... not just
a stereograph, but this time a Kite Aerial Stereograph.
(Dinkum!) A new KAP menu is on view, too.
The 20th anniversary reunion details are available now.
If you attended PHS during 1973-78 check this out now!
The first written history of the school, as it appeared in the
December 1916 edition of the school magazine. (5 x 25k images)
The Sydney Morning Herald's Column 8 reported a good joke,
but Parramatta High School ran it 77 years earlier!
Another windy day - some more Kite Aerial Photographs. One of them
takes pride of place on the home page -
it shows the whole school in one shot.
Nothing major - just some fine-tuning. The navigation buttons at left are a little
more interactive now. Two new stereographs: one of the school and
surroundings from a distance, and one of our quad. An addition
to the St Johns Cemetery page puts the site in its geographical
perspective.
A 3D view of the Sydney CBD
- taken from 20km distance - similar to the
view which is marginally visible in the Kite Aerial Photographs
noted below.
A new view of the school - literally. Have a look at some
Kite Aerial Photographs taken during the blustery conditions
last Tuesday (23/6/98).
Reunions of ex-students are appearing apace. In today's Sydney Morning Herald
the 40th anniversary celebrations are mentioned.
This is in addition to the 20th and the 50th already mentioned on these pages.
The PHS school magazine has been published (with a break during WWII) since 1916.
Some of the photographs that appeared from 1916 to 1925
are now available.
The ex-students section has a number of additions. There is an invitation to the
20 year reunion and an online survey
we are asking all ex-students to complete and email back to us
(please)
15 minutes of fame... The Sydney Morning Herald's "Icon" liftout today features a review of
this site in their "What Works on the Web" column. No links, sorry. The copyright boys
would have a field day.
The 1930s at PHS are fondly remembered, starting at
history page 4 and extending on with a number of links and images.
Some more photos have been added to
historical images page 2.
(Largely shots of the original building in the 30's.)
There is a new page of historical photos,
with a sporty theme.
Oh... I almost forgot! There's also a new animated GIF as well.
WARNING Gratuitous frivolity!
Minor revisions have been made to ensure that our site complies with departmental guidelines.
