Here is the skin of the PHS Rokkaku, in room 34 - our woodwork room.
It is made from Tyvek™, a very light (42g/sq.m) plastic/paper combination. Nowhere near
as robust as the various nylon fabric alternatives, it is nevertheless cheap and
easy to handle.
Many of the kites to be built by this year's (1999) Design and Technology classes will employ
this material.
