Students of the War Years |

In October 2002, students from 1937-1943 gathered to reminisce about their old school days
during the difficult years of WWII.
Despite the hardships that war imposed on families, there were many happy memories shared amongst the group. "...the school made special efforts to give us a secure and happy environemt against a background of social upheaval, continual shortages and a growing fear of invasion..." As one girl remembered "...I have vivid memories of doing commando drill with the boys in the gym and of playing against them in cricket and basketball...". There were concerts and dances and beach picnics. |
