The Way Things Used To Be
This little (87x122mm) booklet was found in Miss Mott's effects.

It contains no explanatory notes -no instructions- just sixteen pages of words. It is not dated, but would likely have been printed around 1913.

There doesn't appear to be a specific ordering or grading of the words, except that the first few are grammatical terms.

Well, its not difficult to develop a use for this list - one which will serve a useful "drill-and-practice", "rote-learning" purpose.


Here's an idea:

  1. Copy out the words from page (xx)
  2. Devise a sentence which illustrates the meaning of each word

Yes.
That'll do until something better comes along.
