Partial Eclipse of the Moon

A partial eclipse of the Moon was visible from Parramatta - between the clouds - on Monday Oct 17 2005.

This shot was taken at 10:21pm local time, when the moon was just skimming the umbra - the centre portion of the shadow of the Earth. This represented the maximum eclipse.

The tiny wee reddish dot just to the right of 12 o'clock is the star TYC617-287-1 in the constellation Pisces
(not digital noise as first suspected!)
