Student Representative Council
Every student has the opportunity to join the Student Representative Council and play an active role in all aspects of school life.

Students participate in a variety of activities including:

• Western Sydney Region Student Representative Councils
  
• Rotary youth leaders camps
  
• Team-building skills days
  
• Advisory and mentoring sessions with ex-students
  
• Peer mentoring and peer mediation
  
• School ambassadors for school and community events such as Year 7 Meet the Teachers, Orientation Day and Open Day, Holroyd SSP Music Concert, Ex-Student Days
  
• Fundraising and community service

School Prefects

Parramatta High School has a fine tradition of student leadership. School Prefects have been appointed every year since 1915.

Year 11 students may nominate for a leadership position. Successful candidates are chosen through a ballot system involving their peers and school staff. The School Prefects undergo a period of probation and participate in leadership and team building activities. The Senior Prefects are elected by the Prefect Body. A formal induction assembly is held in March.

The School Prefects play a vital role in school life. They have representation on the Student Representative Council and Annual School Report committee. Their duties include conduct of school assmeblies, peer support and assistance in the school canteen. They represent the school at school functions and community events.

The Prefects are expected to set the highest example in dress, attendance, conduct and involvement in school affairs.
