Lachlan Macquarie College

Commencing in 2008, Lachlan Macquarie College, is a dynamic centre of excellence in mathematics and science, developing and providing high quality and innovative programs to improve learning outcomes for public school students of Western Sydney.

These programs address teaching and learning needs within three major strands and their delivery is supported by the availability and application of new, cutting edge technologies in a unique school and tertiary education partnership.

Lachlan Macquarie College will be built on the grounds of Macquarie Boys’ Technology High School following the school closure at the end of 2009.

Parramatta High School students have been involved in numerous programs through Lachlan Macquarie College since 2008. These include:

  • The Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) challenge
  • Experience Science Day
  • Stage 3 Gifted and Talented forums via video conference
  • Connected Earth and Environmental Science class
  • Fred Watson Astronomy Master class

Mark Grady, Co-ordinator for the Lachlan Macquarie College
Co-ordinator Mark Grady, former Head Teacher Mathematics at Cumberland High School was appointed as the Co-ordinator of Lachlan Macqaurie College in 2008.

Mark looks forward to working with the staff and students in all partner schools.
