BRIDGE: Australia-Indonesia Schools Partnership Program

Parramatta High School is one of only two Sydney metropolitan schools to be involved in the Australia-Indonesian BRIDGE Project - an initiative of the Asia Education Foundation and the Australian Federal Government.

Ninety-three schools Australia-wide are participating in an on-line collaboration with schools in both countries to increase knowledge and understanding between Australia and Indonesia through school-to-school partnerships that link students in both countries.

Principal, Peter McFarland and the Head Teachers of Languages and HSIE made a presentation to visiting Indoensian journalists and were interviewed for Indoensian media. An Indonesian tv crew visited the school to film students working in the classroom.

Our Connected Classrooms will enable students from Languages and HSIE to participate in various on-line activities with students at Indonesian schools.

Year 12 Language students meet Brent Hall, Director, Australia-Indonesia Institute

Juhi, Karlo and Nathan from Year 12 who are studying Indonesian for the HSC told Brent Hall, Director, Australia-Indonesia Institute, they are excited that the school is involved in the project.

They, along with their class mates travelled to Malaysia in 2009 on a study tour. A second study tour is planned for 2011.
