| Clean Up Australia Day at Parramatta High School Friday 2 March, 2001 Students from Parramatta High School will be participating in this year’s Clean Up Australia Day by collecting rubbish in Parramatta Park. The school is located within the grounds of the park, next to the golf course. Students from the school’s Student Representative Council (SRC) are frequently involved in community projects such as Clean Up Australia Day. “We feel it is important to make this area tidy as we share it with the community”, says Ngoc Nguyen of the Student Representative Council. The school’s environment committee works closely with the National Parks and Wildlife service. Using plants purchased from Parramatta City Council and the State Forestry Commission, some areas around the school have been planted using species native to the Parramatta area. |
