Hard to believe that from the end of World War I young men were allowed to ride the trains and buses armed with weapons. At Parramatta High the lads (no girls despite being co-educational) held rifle practice in a sandbagged corridor and mortar practice in the quad. Although we no longer have a cadet corps at the school , the Cadet Store still shows the names of many cadets.
